Water The Elixir of Life , Is it ?

Water The Elixir of Life  , I Agree. Even the human body is 75% water, while the brain alone is comprised of 85% water. The blood, consisting of 92% water, carries oxygen and essential nutrients to capillaries where they are released into a water-based fluid that surrounds the cells called lymph. In addition, water serves as a lubricant that cushions joints and protects tissues and organs, including the spinal chord, from shock and trauma. Neurotransmitters are transported to the nerve endings for transmission of messages on waterways. Water also regulates body temperature, aids digestion, works to keep the muscles and skin toned, and assists in weight loss. Water is so essential, that without it we could live for only a few days.To maintain a hydrated system it is recommended that we drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of pure water a day or as many ounces as half our body weight. However, considering the state of our environment, it is important to find a good source of healthy drinking water. Although water covers more than 70% of the earth’s surface, only 1% of this water is available for drinking, and the health of that water is highly questionable.

But , I have read a shocking articles which states water as a POISON.

Dosage: 14 litres mentioned
Time: 12 hours or so?
Available: always available
Certainty: unknown
Notes: works by washing out the salts in your body, until the cells fail (osmotic balance buggered up). You need to keep drinking continually until you collapse. Unusual method. Someone suggested it would also cause cramps. The following is something from [2]: “About a year ago a local newspaper carried a story about a woman who had drunk herself to death. Apparently she had ingested something mildly poisonous, and when she called her doctor asking him what to do, he told her to drink lots of water and see him in the morning. She got to it and managed to drink no less than 14 litres of water before the osmotic balance in her body was so upset it could no longer function and she died (don’t know how quickly)”.

They are mentioning this problem as water intoxication. Drinking too much water can eventually cause your brain to swell, stopping it regulating vital functions such as breathing, and causing death. If you drink too much water, eventually the kidneys will not be able to work fast enough to remove sufficient amounts from the body, so the blood becomes more dilute with low salt concentrations.
